Ditch The Diet

Let’s uncover the truth about dieting and its unhealthy grip on our lives, shall we! As an integrative nutritional health coach, I'm here to shed light on the dark side of the dieting world. Brace yourselves for some eye-opening revelations! Let's dive in!

The Diet Introduction

Ah, diets. They come in all shapes and sizes, promising to be the ultimate solution to our health and fitness dreams. But let's face it, obsessively hopping from one diet to another is like chasing a unicorn on a roller coaster – exhausting and ultimately futile. The truth is, dieting often leads to disappointment and creates an unhealthy relationship with food. Not to mention how it messes with your mental health! It’s not just about losing weight, it’s about the loss of energy, the loss of coping, and the mood spirals that come with the territory of the yo-yo dieting.

Diets: A 1 Size Fits All?

The idea that a single diet can magically transform everyone's health is about as realistic as finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. Our bodies are beautifully unique, and what works for one person may not work for another. (Ever heard “one man’s medicine, is another man’s poison”?) Instead of chasing the latest diet trend, let's embrace the concept of individualized nutrition and healthy eating habits tailored to our unique needs. Stop counting calories like Susie next door! No, low fat diets are not good for everyone-in fact, they are not good for anyone! And no magic pill is truly magical (check out the side effects!).

But It’s The “Health” Industry

Ah, the multi-billion dollar health industry, where snake oil salesmen lurk behind glittering promises of quick fixes. It's time to take off those rose-tinted glasses and see the truth. While there are genuine experts and products out there, we must acknowledge that not everyone has our best interests at heart. It's time to reclaim our power and make choices that truly serve our well-being. Just because a famous person is in an ad for some sort of nutrition plan, or fancy titled diet, doesn’t actually mean that they themselves actually participate in it…they are being paid! Technically, you are paying them, with the thousands of dollars you fork out to buy the special powders, the special pills, and the unique recipes that are put out by these mega companies! They don’t want to tell you how simple it is, because then they wouldn’t be making all the money that they are making!

Follow Habits Not Diets

Picture this: instead of being trapped in a never-ending cycle of diets, we focus on cultivating healthy eating habits that nourish our bodies and souls. No more restrictive rules or feeling guilty for indulging in a slice of birthday cake. By embracing a balanced approach to nutrition, we can build a sustainable foundation for long-term health and happiness. It is truly about following and 90/10 style lifestyle! Eating healthy 90% of the time, and allowing a little divulging 10% of the time, our health will be elevated to such a degree that we will have sustainable energy and vibrancy for many years in our lives! (That doesn’t mean to not care about what you were putting into your body 10% of the time, you should always be aware of what you are inputting into your tank!)

First Step To Healthy Eating Habits

Now, it's time to put theory into practice. I challenge you to embark on a food diary adventure. By observing and documenting how different foods interact with your unique body, you'll gain invaluable insights into what truly nourishes you. No more guesswork or blindly following the latest fads – it's time to forge a deeper understanding of your own needs. Keep a notebook close at hand in the kitchen. Write down everything you put into your body at the end of the day before you go to bed. The following morning know how you are feeling, take special note if it is a negative reaction. This is one of the most impactful practices you will ever incorporate in your eating rituals, I guarantee it!

It's high time we bid farewell to the dieting madness that keeps us locked in a perpetual cycle of hope and disappointment. Instead, let's embrace the power of healthy eating habits customized to our individual needs. Remember, the health industry may be a wild beast, but armed with knowledge, a healthy perspective, and a food diary, we can navigate our way to true well-being. Grab that notebook!
