Healthy and Easy Orange Chicken

I love Orange Chicken, but I have a tendency to get an upset stomach whenever I eat it at a restaurant. So, I searched all over for a good recipe, and finally adapted the ingredients to suit my preferences…it’s so yummy!

Ingredients Needed:

4 Chicken Breasts (or 6 boneless chicken thighs)

1/4 Cup GF 1 for 1 Flour

1 TBSP Tapioca Flour

1 Tsp Black Pepper

1 Tsp Onion Powder

1/2 Tsp Ginger Powder

1/2 Tsp Salt

1 Tsp Paprika

For the Orange Chicken Sauce:

3/4 Cup Orange Juice

1.5 TBSP Tapioca Flour

2 TBSP Olive Oil

3 TBSP Coconut Aminos

1.5 TBSP Apple Cider Vinegar

2 TBSP Coconut Sugar (Agave also works)

1/2 TBSP Grated Ginger

1/2 Tsp Black Pepper

1 Tsp Orange Zest

The How To:

Chop up chicken into 1/2 inch cubes.

Toss in a bowl with Flour, Tapioca Flour, Salt, Black Pepper, Onion Powder, Paprika, and Ginger Powder-coating the chicken.

Set aside.

Heat Olive Oil in pan.

Fry chicken until golden brown and set on lined plate when done.

Whisk all Sauce ingredients and cook on low heat in pan, simmer until thickened.

Transfer fried chicken to sauce in pan, allowing chicken and sauce to simmer together for 1-2 minutes.

Remove from heat and serve with rice, noodles, quinoa, or lots of veggies.
